Description
Tiotropium Bromide Rotacaps is a long-acting anticholinergic bronchodilator. It is used to treat COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease): emphysema and chronic bronchitis. It prevents bronchospasm in patients with COPD. The medicine is available in capsule and is administered orally using an inhalation device. The typical daily dose is 18 mcg.
The Tiotropium Bromide Rotacaps capsules contain dry powder formulations. Each capsule contains 18 mcg Tiotropium. Tiotropium is the active ingredient.
Tiotropium Bromide Rotacaps is not a rescue medicine. It will not act fast enough to treat an attack that has already started. You will need to use a fast-acting inhalation medicine to treat attacks.

- If you are using medicine for treating Parkinson’s disease, irritable bowel syndrome, overactive bladder, high blood pressure, muscle spasms or depression.
Use Tiotropium Bromide Rotacaps with a prescription. The usual dose is one capsule (two puffs) a day through the mouth. Do not take smaller or larger doses than recommended. The medicine comes with instructions, medication guides and an instruction sheet. Follow the instructions keenly and contact your doctor if you do not understand any of the instructions.
To use the medicine, load a capsule into the inhaler. Push the button on the side of the device to pierce the capsule and release the powder into the inhalation chamber. Take two puffs through the mouthpiece to achieve the recommended dose per capsule.
It is unknown if Tiotropium Bromide Rotacaps can cause harm to an unborn or breastfeeding baby. Let your doctor know if you are pregnant, plan on becoming pregnant during the course of treatment or if you are breastfeeding a baby. Tiotropium is not indicated for use by persons below the age of 18.

Do not take the Tiotropium Bromide Rotacaps capsules by mouth. Use it with the inhalation device. Usually, you will take one capsule a day.
Don’t use the inhalation device with other medicine. You should also keep the capsule in its pack until it is time for use. Discard the used capsule or one that has been out of its pack for a while as air exposure can damage the capsule.
The drug may cause blurred vision or dizziness. Avoid driving, using heavy machinery or engaging in activities that call for clear vision or alertness.
