In case of uncontrollable movements or twitching of the lips, tongue, arms, legs, face or eye lids, stop using Promethazine and contact your doctor. These might be the early signs of serious side effects.

 

Promethazine should not be given to a child below the age of 2. The medicine can cause severe breathing problems or even death in very young kids. Always contact your doctor before using this medication.

 

Some of the side effects of Promethazine will impair your judgment and reactions. Avoid activities that require alertness. You should also avoid alcohol while on this drug in order to avoid serious interactions. Your doctor must also know of all the medications you are using before a prescription is given.
