Indications

Kidney disease (severe)

-Report the incidence of any kidney disease to the doctor. Use of these medicines is not recommended in patients having severe kidney impairment. If the impairment is mild, then this medicine can be used with suitable dose adjustments.

Obstructive disease of the lungs (severe)

-Report the incidence of any obstructive disease of the lungs (veno-occlusive disease, emphysema, bronchitis, etc.). Use of Cialis is not recommended as the risk of adverse effects is significantly high.

Priapism (moderate)

-Report the incidence of prolonged and painful erection to the doctor. This may be due to underlying conditions such as sickle cell anemia, leukemia, or deformation of the penis. The risk of permanent tissue (penis) damage is high in such patients, and hence caution is advised while administering these medicines.

Disease of the retina (moderate)

-These medicines should be used with caution in patients suffering from a disorder of the retina in which color discrimination is impaired. Use of this medicine should be avoided in this case.

Warnings

-Hypotension. Consumption of these medicines can cause a mild and short-lasting decrease in blood pressure. Caution should be exercised if you are taking any medication for lowering high blood pressure.
-Deformation of the penis. These medicines should be used with caution in patients having a physical deformity of the penis which may be due to angulation, cavernosal fibrosis, or Peyronie’s disease. The risk of permanent loss of sexual potency is high in such cases.
-Prolonged and painful erection. These medicines should be used with caution if you have had a painful erection lasting for more than 4 hours. This may be due to an underlying condition like sickle cell anemia, multiple myeloma, or leukemia.

-Loss of vision. These medicines may cause a sudden loss of vision in one or both eyes. It may also cause impairment in color differentiation capacity. It should be used with extreme caution in patients suffering from this rare genetic disorder of the retina called Retinitis Pigmentosa.
-Heart disease. These medicines should be used with caution if you have a condition of the heart and blood vessels. Use of this medicine is not recommended if your doctor has asked to not indulge in any sexual activity due to a risk of adverse effects on the heart.
-Surgery. Report the use of these medicines before undergoing any surgery including dental procedures.
-Seizure disorder. Use of Cialis has been associated with increased frequency and severity of convulsion and hence should be used with caution in patients who have epilepsy or any other seizure disorder.
-Liver/kidney disease. Cialis should be used with caution in patients having an impairment of normal liver/kidney function. Use of this medicine is not recommended if the impairment is severe.
