1. Skin
Use the Mometasone topical exactly as directed by the doctor. Wash your hands before handing the medicine. Apply a thin layer of the medicine on the affected skin area once a day. Rub gently into the skin. Don’t cover the treated area unless you are directed to do so by your doctor. Avoid using the medicine on the face, groin or axillae.
2. Asthma
Mometasone inhalation will not act fast enough to treat asthma that has already started. You will need fast acting inhalation medicine. Use the medicine as directed.
The inhalation powder comes with an inhaler device that is preloaded. The device delivers a measured dose as a spray of powder. Don’t use extra dose if you don’t feel the powder. It may take two weeks before you notice an improvement. To reduce the risk of yeast infection, rinse your mouth with water after using the inhaler device. Don’t swallow the rinsing water.
If the symptoms do not improve within two weeks of continuous use, contact your doctor. You should also let your doctor know if the symptoms are getting worse. Frequent medical tests may be required if you use the medicine long-term.
