Levocetirizine is a drug used to treat the symptoms of perennial (year-round) allergies in both adults and children over 6 months of age. The medicine is also used to treat the symptoms of seasonal allergies in adults and in kids over the age of 2 years. Levocetirizine will treat symptoms caused by the natural chemical histamine in the body: sneezing, runny nose, watery eyes and itching. Levocetirizine may also be prescribed to treat swelling and itching that is caused by hives (chronic urticarial).

Use levocetirizine exactly as prescribed. Be particularly careful with kids as their body absorbs twice as much dose as adults. Contact your doctor if the symptoms don’t get better or if they worsen or if you get a fever.
